This retreat is lead by Dr. Paloma Enmei Martinez-Cruz and Rev. June Ryushin Kaililani Tanoue.
We enthusiastically welcome women of all ages and orientations to join us on this brave exploration that cultivates the authentic expression of our true nature. The retreat will include:

Dr. Paloma Enmei Martinez Cruz holds a Ph.D in Latin American Literature from Columbia University and is an Assistant Professor of Spanish at North Central College. She is the author of MesoAmerican Wise Women (forthcoming historical view of the intellectual traditions of native women of Spanish America. A Zen practitioner for over ten years, a mother, and an awared-winning creative writer, Paloma is inspired by the every day efforts of women and men to examine and ignite the authentic self.
Rev. June Ryushin Kaililani Tanoue is an ordained Zen Buddhist priest, and a Kumu Hula, a master teacher of the Hula. She studied la'au lapa'au, Hawaiian spiritual healing with herbs, with Henry Auwae. She has an MPH, Master of Public Health and Nutrition from the University of Hawaii and works at Feeding America. She teaches hula in Chicago and New York.
Cost: $225/ZZC members, $175, room: $35/night. (retreat includes two breakfasts, two lunches and a supper)

The Zen Community of Chicago teaches a simple path of spiritual practice that anyone can learn, rooted in Western psychology and science. We wish to contribute to living in an awakened world where suffering is transformed into greater compassion and delusion into clarity.
Our Hula School, Halau I Ka Pono also teaches Sacred Hawaiian Dance - Hula in Chicago and New York.
